What is ESW?

Enterprise for a Sustainable World (ESW) is dedicated to tackling the world’s most pressing social and environmental problems through a new, more inclusive form of commerce: Sustainable Enterprise.  We believe that business is uniquely positioned, with the technology, resources, and global reach, to take the lead in moving us toward a sustainable world. We are committed to enabling companies to realize this opportunity through a combination of strategic innovation, education, and new capability-building.

ESW was founded by sustainable business pioneer Professor Stuart Hart.  Building on his work, ESW is focused on the pursuit of tomorrow’s technology and markets—commercialization of next-generation clean technologies and the inclusion of the underserved majority at the base of the world income pyramid (BoP). We combine capability in next generation strategy development with deep experience in organizational innovation and the on-the-ground skills and tools needed to bring about transformative change.

We have the experience to help both new entrepreneurs and existing companies put this theory into practice.  We leverage a global network of partners and  thought leaders from around the world to advance the state-of-the art through action-learning, applied research, and knowledge transfer.
